The Catholic Defender: The 15 Promises Our Lady gave for the Rosary. The Sixth Promise
6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life. This promise is special because it shows that the person dedicated to the Rosary and has a good grasp of the Gospel message will be strong in faith. Romans 8:37-39 states, "No, in all these things we conquer overwhelmingly through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
We are going to be challenged, that is for sure, we are all in a spiritual war for the battle of souls. 1 Peter 5:8-9 states, "Be sober and vigilant. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for [someone] to devour. Resist him, steadfast in faith, knowing that your fellow believers throughout the world undergo the same sufferings." Jesus established the Catholic Faith to win souls for Heaven. We are victorious when we follow the teachings of the Catholic faith, the true Word of God.
The faithful Catholic will apply themselves to the sacred Mysteries. The Sacraments is the way of life without compromise. Ephesians 3:1-6 states, "Because of this, I, Paul, a prisoner of Christ* [Jesus] for you Gentiles—if, as I suppose, you have heard of the stewardship* of God’s grace that was given to me for your benefit,
[namely, that] the mystery* was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly earlier. When you read this you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to human beings in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit, that the Gentiles are coheirs, members of the same body, and copartners in the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel."
This is why Catholics place much loyalty to the Catholic clergy. St. Paul was made an Apostle by Christ for the people of God. He was made an Apostle for our benefit. Every ordained Catholic clergy, bishop, priest, deacon are anointed through the power given them in their ordinations. 1 Timothy 4:12-16 states, 'Let no one have contempt for your youth, but set an example for those who believe, in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. Until I arrive, attend to the reading, exhortation, and teaching. Do not neglect the gift you have, which was conferred on you through the prophetic word* with the imposition of hands of the presbyterate. Be diligent in these matters, be absorbed in them, so that your progress may be evident to everyone. Attend to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in both tasks, for by doing so you will save both yourself and those who listen to you."
Notice St. Paul's word to St. Timothy, that persevering in his preaching and teaching he would save himself and his listeners. This is a major reason we pray for our priests because of their obligation to serve the people. How horrible and scandalous it is when a priest abuses his people. A heavy judgement awaits such a person. The Lord is clear about our need to have His clergy that He has made priests for His Kingdom.
Revelation 5:9-10 states, “Worthy are you to receive the scroll and to break open its seals, for you were slain and with your blood you purchased for God those from every tribe and tongue, people and nation. You made them a kingdom and priests for our God, and they will reign on earth." Elsewhere, Jesus states even much more clearly about His clergy, "Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.”
The Rosary is a powerful weapon to fight the battle of life, our personal devotion and commitment to growing in our Catholic faith. As our society is becoming more secular, our government more hostile to Religion, more Paganist, we are being challenged like never before. We cannot separate our faith from the Church Jesus personally founded for our benefit. To be a conqueror in Christ we must be faithful to Him and His holy Church. By our faithfulness to Jesus, we will receive our Just reward and escape His divine justice. We will be prepared as on a pilgrimage in a strange land for death and through God's grace will be made worthy of eternal life.
Act of Faith
O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that your divine Son became man and died for our sins and that he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches because you have revealed them who are eternal truth and wisdom, who can neither deceive nor be deceived. In this faith I intend to live and die. Amen.
