The Catholic Defender responding on the Internet with a Protestant

There is a page on the Internet, one that I've been associated for some years, where Catholic Apologist John S. Martignoni asked this question:
"I believe that Jesus Christ is the 2nd Person of the Trinity, the Son of God made man, that He was born of a virgin and that He suffered and died on the Cross for my sins in accordance with the Scriptures. That He was resurrected on the 3rd day and ascended into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father."
John was wanting to get responses if the Non-Catholics within the group would recognize if John was saved. I simply said "Workin on it"! As a Catholic when asked if I'm saved, I would respond I am being saved, I am saved, and I am working to be saved. I'm a work in progress. Well, of course your going to get a number of responses that carry the debate in different directions.

Notice my discussion that follows with a Mr. Brad Pape:
Donald Hartley Brad, show me anywhere in the bible that teaches and encourages a believer to reject and deny Peter!
Brad PapeGroup Moderator Why would I do that? Christians should not reject and deny Peter, Paul, James, Jude, or John.
Donald Hartley But yet you have by making yourself your own Pope?
Brad PapeGroup Moderator Where do you get that from?
Donald Hartley Well, just your response to John leads me to think that your not Catholic, probably a Calvinist or even worse, an Episcopalian?
Brad PapeGroup Moderator I accept John S. Martignoni as a Christian and asked to him the same question that he asked to non-Catholics, which includes me.
Brad PapeGroup Moderator I am not a Calvinist. I am not Episcopalian.

Donald Hartley Which coming from John, he is addressing that question to anti-Catholics who do not regard Catholics as Christians. Your coming from a position contrary to the Catholic Faith despite speaking the same lingo...
Donald Hartley Those were simple thoughts where you might be coming from, you have about 45,000 other versions to choose from or you can make up your own...
Brad PapeGroup Moderator The OP says "Question For Any Non-Catholic:". It does not say "anti-Catholics".
Donald Hartley Well, John was looking for anyone who would dispute the Catholic faith which would be all those man made traditions set up as a result of the rebellion.
Brad Pape John S. Martignoni, Does Donald Hartley speak on your behalf?

Brad Pape Donald Hartley, you could show that you can be corrected by admitting that the OP does not say "anti-Catholics".
Donald Hartley lol I speak on Christ's behalf, John is a Brother of mine from the great State of Alabama! Roll Tide..
Brad Pape >> I speak on Christ's behalf << Christ would not think that the OP says "anti-Catholics" because it does not and Jesus is Truth.
Donald Hartley John's question would not mean anything if there was an understanding that everyone had the same set of principles.
Donald Hartley Jesus is truth according to Him, not those who make it up as they go? What group do you attach yourself to then? Methodist, Lutheran?
Brad Pape I think John and I have the same set of principles. You seem like a schismatic.

Donald Hartley Not at all, I'm not Orthodox or any of those schismatics, I was defending Peter, not Photus?
Brad Pape >> What group do you attach yourself to then? << I am a member of Evangelical Covenant Church....See MoreManage
The Evangelical Covenant Church
COVCHURCH.ORG
Donald Hartley I'm Catholic and thankful of it, I'm not skirting around as if I'm hiding my association!
Brad Pape >> I was defending Peter. << I do not see that. I see accusations and false statements.
Donald Hartley Not at all, what association does the "Evangelical Covenant Church have with Rome? Are you a new movement within the Catholic Community? If so I have not heard of it? I see your borrowing titles that are explicitly Catholic?
Donald Hartley Swedish Lutheran immigrants founded the Swedish Evangelical Mission Covenant of America (now ECC) on February 20, 1885, in Chicago, Illinois. ... The name was changed to the Evangelical Covenant Church of America in 1954 and the "of America" was eventually abandoned because the denomination includes a Canadian conference.

Brad Pape >> what association does the "Evangelical Covenant Church have with Rome? << None: our association is with Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Donald Hartley Not at all, you only go back to 1885, the Catholic goes back to 33 A.D.
Donald Hartley And I thought you had a Lutheran flavor....
Brad Pape Go spend an hour with God.
I was responding that I will, and that I would encourage him to do the same, but he would need to go to any Catholic Church where there is a true Tabernacle where Jesus in truly, personally present.
At that point Brad Pape, once exposed, blocked me from the page. It is important that we do share and defend the Catholic faith.

1 Peter 3:14-16 states, "But even if you do suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts reverence Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to make a defense to any one who calls you to account for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and reverence; and keep your conscience clear, so that, when you are abused, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame."
Jude vs 3 states, "Beloved, being very eager to write to you of our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints."
At the time I was simply posting an article I put together for Lent, "Plugging the holes" when I stumbled onto this discussion. You never know when the opportunity will come your way to stand up for the Faith!
