"Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore he who resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of him who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain; he is the servant of God to execute his wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be subject, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience. For the same reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. Pay all of them their dues, taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due. Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. The commandments, "You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not covet," and any other commandment, are summed up in this sentence, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Besides this you know what hour it is, how it is full time now for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed; the night is far gone, the day is at hand. Let us then cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light; let us conduct ourselves becomingly as in the day, not in reveling and drunkenness, not in debauchery and licentiousness, not in quarreling and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires." Romans 13:1-14

Consider when St. Paul wrote this text of Romans.
St. Paul was taken for trial and placed in chains. Rome was the power, it's justice was final.
Many of the early Church Fathers like St. Justin Martyr worked to share the faith even to the Roman Emperor only to be beheaded like St. Paul.
Finally, with the rise of Constantine and his Edict of Milan, things changed for Christians. Freedom was given as Rome fell in 476 A.D. Ultimately, this would lead to our own Constitution and the freedoms we share as Americans.
Does St. Paul's letter to the Romans chapter 13 still apply today? Of course it does but what is different is the threat of the return of ancient Paganism that has hit the Western world. If Hillary Clinton would have beaten Donald Trump, there would have been a real threat to the religious freedoms we have had based from our Constitution. The Obama Administration had worked to deChristianize America. He even declared to the Muslim world that America was not a Christian nation.

In St. Paul's time, there was much suffering and our best way to fight against the tyranny was through love and living for Christ.
Many gave their lives so that others could live in freedom. Yes, God created the heavens and the earth, all that there is He has made. God placed in our hands the ability to right the wrongs of society and to work for justice and freedom based from the Gospel.
Many people with quote 2 Chronicles 7:14 which is very appropriate, "if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." But in doing so we are so quickly to cut of God's word with the positive message there.

Consider just a few verses down, 2 Chronicles 7:19-20, and see what it says, "But if you turn aside and forsake my statutes and my commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them, then I will pluck you up from the land which I have given you; and this house, which I have consecrated for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples."
By Donald Trump winning the Election and the Republicans holding the Congress both houses, there is a chance we can reverse to trajectory our Country was moving towards. Just think what is being taught in Academia all across the Country, think of the fact that everyday in America there are over 50,000 Sexually Transmitted Diseases diagnosed every day, thousands of Abortions are taking place every day. We have allowed false gods to be planted in America, at the expense of religious tolerance.

If only the Christians would really be Christians? Well, the sleeping giant woke up and hopefully can turn back the Progressive take over of America. The challenge will be that when the liberals lose, they resort to Judicial Activism to get their objectives.
Now, as Christians, we must keep our elected officials to their promises. Their lack of backbone in the past was what brought Donald Trump into the electoral process in the first place. Now, we need to defund Planned Parenthood, to overturn Roe V Wade through Supreme Court picks, to defend Christian's rights to not be forced to participate in ungodly relationships that are an abomination to the Lord Our God.
This is just a little reflection of my hope for the future of America, that God did hear our prayer and will heal our land.
